I recently did a lecture on primary prevention in regards to the flu/ flu season. Both routes are right. Although you may choose to take the flu shot, you still have to take all necessary precautions. The flu shot reduces your risk but does not gaurantee you won't catch the flu. Certain underlying health issues put some populations at higher risk so, they may actually benefit from the shot. In another instance, certain underlying health issues requires a person to stay clear from the flu shot e.g ppl with allergies to eggs. But anyway, you should consult with your primary care provider or pharmacist before taking the shot. (good hand hygiene is the key)!!!
